UNC Women’s Basketball Season Opener Moved to Nov. 4 | Full Schedule & Details (2025)

UNC Women's Basketball Season Tip-Off Delayed by One Day!

In a recent announcement, the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) has revealed a slight change to its women's basketball schedule. The season opener, a highly anticipated event for fans, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 4, at 6 p.m. This means the Bears will now face Northern New Mexico at the Bank of Colorado Arena, giving fans an extra day to prepare for the action.

But here's the twist: the original plan was for a basketball doubleheader! The women's game was initially set for 5 p.m. on Monday, November 3, followed by the UNC men's team taking on Colorado College at 7:30 p.m. on the same day. However, this exciting double-feature has been split up, leaving some fans wondering about the reasons behind the change.

Ticket Holders, Rejoice! UNC Athletic Department has confirmed that tickets purchased for the original women's game on November 3 will still be valid for the rescheduled date. So, if you already have your tickets, you're all set for the new game day!

The women's team is kicking off the season with a home advantage, playing their first four games at their home court. Following the opener against Northern New Mexico, the Bears will face Lamar on Saturday, November 8, at 2 p.m., then Bethany College (Kansas) on Tuesday, November 11, at 6 p.m., and finally the University of Denver on Friday, November 14, at 6 p.m. A strong start at home could set the tone for the rest of the season.

As the season progresses, UNC will begin its Big Sky Conference journey by hosting Montana State on New Year's Day at 6 p.m. Will the Bears start the new year with a conference win?

In other UNC sports news, the athletic department recently celebrated a successful fundraising campaign, raising over $350,000. Additionally, the CSU Rams are witnessing the rise of a new leader in quarterback Jackson Brousseau, and the UNC football team is gearing up for a significant match against Sacramento State. Lastly, Eaton's Emma Anderson has committed to the University of Arizona for softball, showcasing the diverse athletic talents in the region.
